Director Schemes

Many employers will want to have a separate pension scheme for their Directors or perhaps some of their select employees. Often these are funded at a higher level by the employer, or sometimes where the scheme assets are heavily connected to the company itself.

There is a variety of different schemes that can be considered and at
Ashwood Law our Corporate Pension Advisers can explain the choice to you and offer advice as to the best type to suit your particular business needs.

They can include:-

Defined Benefit Schemes (Final Salary Schemes)

Defined Contribution Schemes, including:-
Executive Pension Plans
Small Self Administered Schemes

Individual Schemes, including:-
Personal Pension Plans
Stakeholder Pension Plans
Self Invested Personal Pension Plans

Unregistered Pension Schemes such as Employer Financed Retirement
Benefit Schemes (EFRBS)

As you can see there is no shortage of choice and even though many of the rules for pensions were “simplified” in April 2006, there are still very significant differences between the various types of arrangement and it is still just as important to get professional help in getting the right plans in place.

Just as the rule changes back in 2006 may determine the most suitable type of new plan for your needs, it follows that if you already have an existing plan you need to be reviewing it in order to make sure you are getting the most out of your pension plan. Pensions are more flexible than ever before and can be used as a highly effective and tax efficient business tool as well as offering a highly flexible transition from the workplace into retirement.

As each situation is so very different we suggest you take advantage of a meeting with one of our experienced Corporate Advisers to see how we can help your business.
